Hair loss shampoos just sound too good to be true, right? There just couldn’t be a shampoo that can cause someone to regrow their hair, could there? Well, there isn’t a hair loss shampoo that allow one to regrow their hair, but this does not mean that these shampoos are of no value. Actually, most do not understand what a hair loss shampoo actually does.

Hair loss shampoos help give thinning hair a full look. While it does not stimulate any new growth, it can create a visual appearance that detracts away from any pattern baldness. Because it does not stimulate any new growth, it is a product best suited for those who have not experiences severe hair loss.

What hair loss shampoos do, is that they affix proteins to the hair follicles. Keep in mind, hair itself, is dead protein. So, the hair loss shampoo “adds a little more protein to the mix.”

Sounds like snake oil, huh? It must be a very below board product. Again, it is not. The problem lies in the illusion people have about what constitutes a hair loss product. Because people have been conditioned by the Rogaine and the Propecia commercials that proudly proclaim their ability to regrow hair (and, honestly, these claims have been mimicked by quite a few fraudulent products over the years as wee), most assume that all hair loss products will stimulate regrowth. When hair loss shampoos fail to do so, it becomes a dismissed product.

But, as stated before, hair growth is not the primary purpose of hair loss shampoo. It one is not aware the primary purpose is to add protein, then the negative product image of the shampoo is sure to stick. Hair loss shampoo remains a decent hair loss product and not one that should be so casually dismissed out of hand.
